Jan Hísek – painter, graphic artist and illustrator. Between 1984–1990 he studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Prague (department of book culture and script, professor Jan Solpera). Since the 90s he exhibits both in the Czech Republic and abroad, mostly free graphic work. He is known as a very sensitive, original artist. Hiss mezzotints based on the books of J. R. R. Tolkien are world famous. He lives and works in Prague.
